Meet Ghazel

As a queer Syrian immigrant woman from a Muslim background, I am aware of how important our

identities are in shaping how we move through the world, and how the world reacts to us. Thus, my passion lies in working with individuals who possess marginalized identities, such as race, sexual orientation, gender identity, and religion.

I am a Licensed Psychologist in Wisconsin and in Minnesota. I completed my postdoctoral training at the University of Minnesota’s Program in Human Sexuality, where I gained extensive experience working with gender diverse adolescents and adults, as well as individuals with sexual concerns. Prior to that experience, I received my bachelor’s in psychology from the University of St. Thomas-Houston, my

master’s in clinical psychology at the University of Houston-Clear Lake, and my doctoral degree from the University of Louisville. In addition to specializing in sex therapy and therapy with gender diverse

adolescents and adults, I have a strong background in working with individuals who have obsessive-

compulsive disorder, as well as other general mental health concerns, such as anxiety, depression, or phobias.

I draw from a number of treatment modalities, but at my core I am an Acceptance and Commitment

Therapy practitioner. I believe in forming warm, transparent, and collaborative therapeutic

relationships, and I emphasize mindfulness, self-compassion, and living in line with your values. During

my spare time, I am an avid soccer fan, and can be found playing, watching, or reading about soccer.
