Meet Shalynn
Hi there! My name is Shalynn (she/her) and I am an Advanced Practice Social Worker. I have
experience working with adolescents, adults, and families with a range of support needs, including
anxiety, depression, life transitions and stressors, emotional regulation and trauma. I especially
enjoy working with caregivers and supporting prenatal and postpartum well-being.
I believe in being strengths based and the power of empathy. I use a trauma informed, person-
centered approach that pulls from a variety of models such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT),
somatic practices, mindfulness, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Motivational Interviewing. I
am a proud ally of the LGBTQ+ community and passionate about providing a safe place for
everyone. It is an honor to be able to partner and walk alongside folks in their journey.
I enjoy fall activities, listening to music, watching movies, and spending time with family and friends. I
have two young children and identify as a white, cis woman. I received my Bachelor’s degree in
Psychology from Ripon College and my Master’s degree in Social Work From UW Madison.
