DBT Therapy

Do you ever feel like your mind is telling you one thing when your emotions are sending you the opposite message?

For example, seeing a car driving with its hazards on and then getting angry that it’s driving slowly. Or you may

have thoughts that lead you in a different direction than what you believe? "I know he loves me, but if he really cared

then he would clean up more often".

DBT therapy uses components that consider what is true by looking at the opposite of experienced thoughts, feelings, and beliefs.

Dialectical thinking can help someone accept two opposites as both true. Such as I want to go for a walk every day

and I feel tired after a long day of work. Or wanting to be financially free and wanting to dine out every weekend.

Examples such as these can happen to anyone on any given day.

On the other hand, some people experience distress, emotional imbalance, and interpersonal challenges. Such as

always feeling the need to apologize when you haven’t done anything wrong. Or your partner texting you a picture of

them at the office but not responding to them because you do not believe them.  If you are experiencing conflicting

thoughts, feelings, wishes, or behaviors, then Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) may be helpful for you!

What is Dialectical Behavior Therapy?

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a type of mental health practice designed to help people live more mindfully

and balanced. It can help people find healthier ways to cope with intense feelings or stressful conditions. Additionally, It can help you think through situations before reacting, communicate more effectively, and maintain lasting interpersonal relationships.
